Getting Enough Protein May Help Prevent Wrinkles

People are on a never ending quest to look younger, and that is a good thing—usually. This quest for the fountain of youth prompts many people to do things that are good for their bodies and minds, taking care to take care of themselves in a way that they might not if they didn’t think it would have a positive impact on their minds. While many people are on this search for the perfect anti wrinkle product, other people are looking for a wrinkle treatment to try. Still others are thinking of and researching other ways to keep their skin looking and feeling firmer, and protein is one great way of doing so.

Yes, you read right. Protein is a valid treatment. Protein is needed for the formation of vital collagen, but it is not stored in the body as other things are so it is up to you to make sure that you get enough in your diet.

Protein is recommended for a variety of things and preventing and treating wrinkles is another one to add to the list. Vegetarians may not get enough protein in their diet as they do not eat meat, but there are other ways to go about getting protein that do not involve animal flesh, such as tofu and soy bean products.

For everybody else, getting protein in one’s diet does not have to be a hassle. It is possible to enjoy the same foods that you love and not have to be overly conscious of your protein intake. As a matter of fact meat is one of the best sources of protein out there. Some of the things that you already love to eat may already be great anti wrinkle sources of protein.

For starters, protein is found in plentiful amounts in foods like:

•    Turkey
•    Roast beef
•    Cheese
•    Salmon
•    Halibut
•    Whiting
•    Cod
•    Milk
•    Most types of beans (soy beans, black beans, pinto beans, etc.)
•    Peanuts
•    Cashews
•    Almonds
•    Sunflower seeds
•    Pumpkin seeds
•    Peanut butter
•    Flax seeds

Do any of these things sound like things that you currently eat? If not, consider rounding out your diet by finding recipes that include them so that you can rest assured that you are getting enough protein in your diet for healthy skin.

Too many people go to the extreme and make use of laser surgery, chemical peels and Botox to erase their lines and wrinkles.
