Do They Really Work?

General

When you start aging, you start thinking about a number of things that you never thought of before. You may start thinking about how the stress you’re dealing with makes you get gray hair (or at least it seems as though it is the stress causing the gray hair), and about how your bones seem to creak more than they used to, or about how you’re not as flexible as you once used to be. It’s when the years that you’ve experienced begin to appear on your face, and sometimes before that, when most of us starting thinking about using them. The big question that most people ask before they make any purchases, however, is “does an anti wrinkle cream really work?”

The Basic Science

The first thing to understand about them is that they are all different. Each manufacturer has their own idea as to what will help you to look younger and to get rid of the wrinkles that are bothering you. There are, however, some basic ingredients that appear in many of the more popular and well-known brands that you will find on the shelf.

Retinol – Retinol is an antioxidant and is also a vitamin A compound. Antioxidants are popular in these types of products because they neutralize free radicals, which are oxygen molecules that are unstable. These unstable molecules are what causes wrinkles. Retinol helps to break them down to lessen the appearance of wrinkle and to stop more from appearing.

Hydroxy Acids – Hydroxy acids are exfoliants and are designed, by nature, to remove the dead skin that rests on the top layer of skin, so that the new skin can appear from underneath. These acids are often found in an over the counter anti wrinkle cream because they help to make the skin look younger in just a few weeks.
Copper Peptides – Copper peptides have been found to enhance the healing of wounds on the body. When it comes to this type of product, they allow the body to heal faster so that the winkles are reduced rapidly.

Does My Product Work?

Once you understand the science behind these products, you come to realize that they can absolutely work to help both men and women look and feel younger. The problem, however, is that there are many products out there that aren’t chemically designed to help, but are, instead, designed simply to relieve you of your money. How do you know if the cream you’ve found is one that will truly remove the wrinkles from your face?

The best way is to do your research before you purchase any product, especially if you’re buying it online. There are a number of websites that you can visit in order to discover if the wrinkle creams you are considering purchasing are worth spending money on, or not, and the best way to make sure that your money is used intelligently is to do a thorough background on the product, and the company, before you buy.
