All too often we don’t think about the foods that we put in our mouth. We simply grab something at a drive-thru window or we snag a sandwich on our way out the door. This is actually a very unhealthy way to live, not only because of the problems that it can cause inside of your body, but also because of the way that it can make your skin look. As a rule of thumb it is good to remember that anything that you put in your body will show on the outside of your body. And as it turns out there are foods that you can eat which not only help you to reduce wrinkles but which also help you to have healthier looking skin overall. If you’re trying to have beautiful looking skin, stick to these foods.
Dairy Products
Low fat dairy products are a great way to get healthier looking skin these products have a lot of what our skin needs: vitamin A. A diet that’s rich in vitamin A allows your skin to get the nutrition that it needs. Many dietitians say to look to low fat yogurt, as it not only has vitamin A but also has acidophilus, which is the bacteria that is great for your intestinal health.
Strawberries, Blueberries, Plum
Everyone loves some form of a berry, and it turns out that these berries aren’t just delicious, they’re actually good for you! Berries have antioxidants in them, and these antioxidants are the perfect thing to fight against the free radicals which can cause your skin to look old and haggard. Free radicals are introduced into your skin through pollution, smoking, and even just being out in the sun too often. Adding these fruits to your weekly diet is a great way to have healthier looking skin.
Nuts and Fish
Fatty acids are responsible for making cell membranes healthy, and what this translates into is healthier looking skin. There are a few different essential fatty acids, including omega 6 and omega 3, but dieticians say that most people get enough of omega 6 fatty acids in their diet, but that they lack the omega 3 fatty acids. One way to get more of these acids into your body is to eat more nuts, like walnuts, and more fish products.
Changing your diet isn’t always easy, but if you’re able to incorporate some of these skin improving foods into your daily or weekly regimen, you’ll look and feel great.
