Do you get enough sleep? Sleep experts claim that most people never get enough sleep. Many children are forced to sleep the right amount by their parents, getting at least 12 hours of sleep in many cases. As adults, however, we often feel as though we have too much to do to sleep. The average adult gets 6 hours of sleep a night, when in reality they need at least 8 hours or more to function fully. If you are getting less than 8 hours of sleep a night, you might be doing hazard to your health, and you may be prematurely aging yourself.
Getting Enough Sleep
Sleep is important for the body. It is a time for the brain to recharge and to absorb everything that has happened during the day (which is why some people have strange dreams). It is a time for the muscles to relax and to rejuvenate, and is a time for the whole body to relax. It is the ideal time for the white blood cells in your body to do their job and to keep invaders out of your body, and is a time for the entire body to get ready for the next day.
If you get too little sleep, the body doesn’t have time to do any of this. If you don’t get enough sleep you may find that you feel tired all the time because your body wants to rejuvenate but doesn’t have the time to do so. You may find that you get more illnesses because the white blood cells haven’t had the opportunity to flush the invaders out of your body, and you may also find that you start to look older.
But how does looking older connect with sleep and why is lack of sleep one of the top wrinkle causes? This is because the skin is an organ of the body and needs to be able to have time to rejuvenate. If you do not give the skin enough time to rejuvenate, creases are likely to form and the skin can also be puffy, which makes the creases look even deeper. This is why anti wrinkle formulas work – they take down the puffiness a notch and nourish the skin. While it is a good idea to use some type of anti wrinkle product if you have a good deal of creases, the easiest way to have your skin look great is to make sure you get enough sleep!
