Preventing Wrinkles

There are so many different websites, blogs, and forums out there that are dedicated to providing information to people about different methods of preventing wrinkles and keeping the skin healthy. There are entire cosmetic lines devoted to anti wrinkle creams and ointments all aimed at keeping skin firm and healthy to create a younger look.

While these anti aging creams are all well and fine, they are not the be-all and end-all of wrinkle treatment and prevention. As a matter of fact there are things that you can do at home to prevent wrinkles from becoming a problem for you. One of the main methods of wrinkle prevention and treatment can be found not in your bathroom as an anti wrinkle product might, but in your kitchen sink.

This is water. As you may know, the body is made up of a large majority of water and it is necessary for proper function of all organs. The skin is an organ; as a matter of fact it is the single largest organ on the body and the only one that can be seen without specialized equipment. For this reason, extra special care must be taken to keep this all important body-covering organ in tip-top shape, and water is a great way of doing so.

Drinking enough water can help to prevent wrinkles because it helps to keep the skin firm and hydrated. Experts recommend six to eight regular sized glasses of water a day, or six to eight bottles of water. Not everybody likes the taste of water, and it can be difficult to get into your daily routine even if it is an effective way to prevent having to make use of anti wrinkle creams before your time.

If water is just not your thing, realizing the importance of drinking enough may help. If necessary, add lemon or a small amount of sugar to your water to make it taste better. It doesn’t have to be drunk slowly or leisurely to make it worth its time. If you must, consider chugging your bottle of water just to ensure that it gets into your system.

If you take vitamin supplements, consider taking water to get your pills down every morning instead of juice (or nothing at all). Taking the whole bottle of water down will not only add to your recommended number of glasses per day, but it will also help the pill to dissolve more quickly in your system and ease digestion.

Consider purchasing flavored water as a last resort. Dasani and other major manufacturers make some great flavored waters that are so tasty that you might even forget that it is water you are drinking.

Anti aging creams will come in due time. Until then, do the best you can to prevent wrinkles by finding creative ways to get more water into your diet every day.
