Preventing Wrinkles

As a general rule, women are fairly vain about their appearances. Every woman wants to look good—great, even, and wrinkles just do not seem to play well into that good looking appearance. Men want to look good, too and wrinkles are not a part of that recipe for looking good, either. It is a common misconception that men don’t care about their appearance enough to purchase an anti aging cream but that is not the case at all. The truth is that just like women, some men would probably rather not have to.

Just as it is with women, there are things that men can do to prevent wrinkles from happening to them too soon. Many of the prevention techniques that women use when they would rather not have to go shopping in their 30s can also be used by men, albeit in a little bit different of a context.

Avoid the Sun

Avoid the sun as if your skin depends on it. Well, it kind of does. While the body needs a certain amount of Vitamin E through the sun it doesn’t take long to get in that daily requirement. Anything else is purely extra, and extra can certainly hurt your skin.

Many men have jobs outside that require them to be in the sun for prolonged periods of time. Construction work is one example of a job that requires many men to spend much more than the recommended amount of time under harmful UV rays. If this sounds like you invest in a good sun block with a strong sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or more.

Drink Water

There is something about men drinking water that seems strange. That may be because you don’t see men chugging bottles of water as often as you might see a woman. The thing about water is that the body requires a certain amount of it in order to be healthy, and when there isn’t enough water in the system it can show in the health of your skin. Wrinkles are more likely to happen to a man that doesn’t get enough water versus a man who does. If you don’t want to be shopping for them before too long, swap that soda for a nice, cold bottle of water.

Don’t Smoke

Men tend to smoke more socially than women, if they are not habitual cigarette or cigar smokers. Every bit of smoking that you do increases your need for anti aging product down the line. Don’t smoke. It can be avoided and your health will be much better for it. Smoking is bad for your body and your skin, and not smoking is a great way to prevent wrinkles.
There are products out there that are especially formulated for men. These are often great products, but who wants to have to use a cream if it can be avoided? Take heed of some of these prevention tips and look much better for it.
