Those who are young often don’t concern themselves with what is going to happen to their body when they get older. They take advantage of their youth and often forget that the things that they put their bodies through can actually cause a huge problem for them later on in life, especially if they keep doing the bad things that can cause problems. For instance, many teens and young adults enjoy tanning. Tanning can actually cause you to look much older than you are, prematurely aging your skin and causing wrinkles and age spots to appear. Before you go reaching for anti wrinkle creams, there are a few things that you can do to help your skin to stay beautiful as you age.
Stay Away From the Sun
Once the sun starts to appear and get warm, people flock to be outside, especially those that live in a cold climate. While the suns warmth is wonderful, its rays can actually cause problems. Ultraviolet light is the invisible light that comes directly from the sun. It is this light that actually causes liver spots and deep wrinkles that even the best product can’t get rid of. Ultraviolet light is often the main reason that a person’s skin has aged prematurely.
In order to avoid having to save up tons of money for anti wrinkle creams, you can do a number of simple things. For instance, try to avoid the sun during what is known as “high intensity” hours. This is usually during the hours of 10 am to 4 pm. Try getting your outside chores done before 10 or after 4 in order to avoid the most harsh of ultraviolet lighting. If you must be out during those hours, wear protective clothing, including long sleeved shirts and long pants. If you’re not going to be able to wear something that is concealing, make sure you put on sunscreen that has an SPF factor of more than 15, and apply every 2 hours after being in the sun.
Smoking Is Bad for Skin, Too
If you’re trying to avoid having to purchase lots of anti wrinkle creams, one thing that you can do is to stop smoking. Smoking actually ages your skin due to the fact that it narrows tiny blood vessels, depleting the blood flow which provides the skin with oxygen. The less oxygen the skin has, the more prone it is to aging.
Washing
Rather than scrubbing your skin as hard as you can, as many mothers do to get the stubborn food stains off of their children’s faces, wash your skin gently. No matter whether you’re using a cream or not, it is vital to keep your skin healthy and clear. The best way to do that is to wash it gently every day, twice a day if you can manage it, with a mild soap. The better care you take of your skin now, the less of a possibility there will be that you will need to invest in an product before you’re 40.
